In order to provide continuing services to children and families, Valley Children’s Center relies on community support. To help us and the abused and neglected children in our area, make a donation, provide an item from our wish list, or volunteer your time.

Monetary Donations
$10 = 1 copy of the book Healing the Harm Done: A Parent’s Guide to Helping Your Child Overcome the
Effects of Sexual Abuse, provided to each family
$25 = Family support & referral services during the forensic interview
$50 = 2 hours of crisis intervention therapy for the child & non-offending family members
$75 = 3 group therapy sessions for an adolescent victim
$150 = 1 forensic interview
$300 = 12 group therapy sessions for an adolescent victim
$800 = Cherish-a-Child (the cost of all services for 1 child)
Volunteering
The Valley Children’s Center has a variety of ongoing short-term and long-term volunteer opportunities. The following are areas of responsibility which may be assigned to volunteers:
- Greeters: Volunteers greet the family when they arrive at the Center and supervise children not involved in the session. Volunteers are asked to facilitate quiet play such as putting together puzzles, reading books or coloring.
- Fundraising: Volunteers assist with special events.
- Clerical Support: Volunteers file, track library lending, update resource materials, answer phones, greet clients, prepare/distribute flyers, and announcements.
- Data Entry: Volunteers update mailing lists, media lists, and donor lists.
- Friends Committee: Join a small group of individuals working on a particular piece of the Center’s overall mission, i.e. Facility, Program Development, Fundraising.
