Volunteering

The Valley Children’s Center has a variety of ongoing short-term and long-term volunteer opportunities.  The following are areas of responsibility which may be assigned to volunteers:

• Greeters:  Volunteers greet the family when they arrive at the Center and supervise children not involved in the session.  Volunteers are asked to facilitate quiet play such as putting together puzzles, reading books or coloring.
• Fundraising:  Volunteers assist with special events.
• Clerical Support:  Volunteers file, track library lending, update resource materials, answer phones, greet clients, prepare/distribute flyers, and announcements.
• Data Entry:  Volunteers update mailing lists, media lists, and donor lists.
• Friends Committee:  Join a small group of individuals working on a particular piece of the Center’s overall mission, i.e. Facility, Program Development, Fundraising.
